Discipling Encounters

Thomas (Didymus), said to his fellow disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with him.” 

John 11:16

The name Didymus was probably a nick name for Thomas. It means double. Was it meant to be that he was a double of Christ his Lord? (Only found in John’s gospel.) To be a double of Christ is true discipleship!

Requirements

About: High Desert Prison Ministries has goals to help individuals find Christ and disciple them. We have no human agenda but find that the Lord would have mature believers make disciples of all nations. We as a ministry accept this as a responsibility. As we have opportunity with new believers we seek to engage them in discipling so that they may find the great joys and benefits of mature godly Christian living. Such lives honor the Lord!

Associate Values

Service Responsibility: Each person must commit themselves to be available for staff meetings and accepted volunteer services. It is unacceptable for a person to join the associate team and remain inactive. Inactivity after 4 weeks without engagement or acceptance of given responsibility associates must resign or be terminated.

Teamwork: We make it our responsibility to know you and your business. We desire that you know us and the business of this ministry. We work closely with you to ensure that the instructions and solutions we provide are tailored to meet your unique needs and challenges. We are committed to your fulfillment as a servant of the Lord.

Associate Relations: Associates will be known by others in the community and therefore must maintain godly standards of living. Substance abuse, habits that destroy the body, godless or worldly language, activity unbecoming to God’s people such as the party life are spiritually dysfunctional manners for God’s people. Solid faithful relations with others in and out of the home are required. Faithful attendance in a Christian biblically based church is necessary. Requirements for all Associates:

• Be available for 4 hours a week or more.
• Have a personal phone for communication.
• Have E-mail for communication.
• Have a car for transportation to fulfill obligation
• Be willing to engage in a discipling encounter for one year.
• Choose a physical ministry in which you have experience.
• Commit self to at least one year of service
• Attend all staff or associate meetings (not over 1 per month)

Our Commitment: We train so you better serve the Lord. We can provide gas money for people who have been active with over 4 months service in HDPM and are in a low income bracket. You as an individual will be loved and accepted among the people of this effort for Christ!
